CASE STUDIES
Devon County Show
The Devon County Show takes place at Westpoint, near Exeter on the third week of May each year. Covering over 150 acres and expecting around 90,000 visitors with over 750 trade stands it is the largest event on the county calendar and has HRH Prince of Wales as its patron. The Show is a giant shop window for rural Devon and links consumers with farmers, food producers and others working in the countryside economy.
The Leisure Support Services Team becomes part of the Devon County Show's Organisational Team and delivers a quality service not just for the 3 days of the Show but also in the initial set-up period and more importantly during the clearance period afterwards, ensuring that the Westpoint site returns back to its original condition.
For the 2007 Show, Leisure Support Services worked closely with other stakeholders to introduce a programme of waste recycling to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill.
