CASE STUDIES
Old Royal Naval College
The Old Royal Naval College is truly one of the great buildings of London and one that is recognised by UNESCO as being of "outstanding universal value", containing the finest and most dramatically sited architecture and landscapes in the British Isles. Over the years it has served as a hospital, a naval college and today it operates as an educational establishment and a tourist attraction.
In 2005 the Old Royal Naval College hosted the Trafalgar 200 Celebrations, where Royals and dignitaries assembled to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. A fitting venue for the celebrations, as in January 1806, it was in the Painted Hall where the body of Admiral Lord Nelson laid in state after returning from the victory over Napoleon.
