CASE STUDIES

Royal Society of Arts

Leisure Support Services delivers cleaning and recycling management services to The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), based on John Adam Street in central London.

With a number of unique rooms available for hire, including among others the Benjamin Franklin Room and the Great Room - a 200 capacity lecture theatre surrounded by paintings dating from 1801 - the RSA is a conference and banqueting venue, also with a restaurant, a library and business centre. The venue also undertakes civil weddings and receptions. The RSA is located in central London and operates 365 days a year with a vibrant event schedule. Therefore maintaining the high standards year round is just as important as maintaining standards for events, as RSA staff and Fellows use the facilities on a daily basis.

The contract is to deliver housekeeping services, preparing each of the facilities on a daily basis ready for functions and lectures throughout the day. The onus is on our team having to ensure meticulous attention to detail by removing smudges from glass and mirrors, buffing brass and other such activities to maintain standards that will add to the visitors' experience. The central London location and lack of back of house space is a dilemma faced at the RSA and one that has been resolved by working closely with service partners and looking at all options for the most effective scenarios.
