Game, set and match for Leisure Support Services at Wimbledon

Leisure Support Services has recently won the prestigious housekeeping and court attendant contract at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, covering both year round provision and the Qualifying and Championships period. The win adds to a growing portfolio of world-class sports venue contracts gained since the company was formed just four years ago, including the Brit Oval, Ricoh Arena and Leicester City's Walkers Stadium.

The company also delivers services to a number of international events including the Open Championship and Leeds Festival and the Leisure Support Services team is relishing the opportunity to work at the prestigious Wimbledon event. Lucas Barclay, Head of Operations explains: "Wimbledon is an event which you feel privileged to work at. The sense of history, the excitement among the crowds and the great tennis matches being played make it unique. Having worked at the Championships before, I have come to appreciate the level of preparation and meticulous attention to detail necessary to create the environment that Wimbledon has become famous for. The Club have entrusted us with the responsibility to maintain it as their patrons would like, and we won't let them down."

Announcing the contract win, managing director of Leisure Support Services, Peter Watts said: "This is a fantastic win and is testimony to the massive amount of effort put in by our management and staff teams across the country. It also reflects the enormous success of our 'project five star' strategy in which we commit to delivering the same level of service and support that you would expect at any reputable five star hotel."

Peter adds: "There has been a great excitement within the company since the announcement of the win and there is a real determination amongst our team to live up to the reputation we have built for ourselves in the market. Making sure we contribute to the famous Wimbledon experience is important to us and we are already working hard to set up robust processes to deliver the standards expected by the Club, the players, the world's media and millions of viewing public".

John Cox, Building and Services Manager at The All England Lawn Tennis Club said "It is a pleasure to welcome Leisure Support Services as one of our contractors after their selection from a tender process that included some very experienced and capable companies. We are looking forward to the professionalism and standards that are implicit in their 'project five star' approach.
