Leisure Support Services Hits a Six at the Ashes
While celebrations continue following England's historic npower Ashes victory, the Leisure Support Services team is celebrating its own success in keeping the Brit Oval spotless and well maintained during the event.
The dedicated team worked unfailingly to ensure that not only the stands were free from all waste, but also that all the hospitality and banqueting areas were spotless and ready for use the next day. Twenty tonnes of waste was created during each day of the Test Match, of which almost a third was recycled.
Peter Watts, of Leisure Support Services Limited praised the planning and work of the team: "Our team worked extremely hard preparing for this historic test match. It has been to their credit to have seen them work so well together preparing the stands and facilities, ready for each day of the thrilling test match. I am proud of the result of the team's efforts."
Five engineers were on call to react to any maintenance issues during the match. The team responded quickly and effectively to all maintenance requests that had been reported via a dedicated helpdesk system and passed on to them.
Paul Sheldon, chief executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, said: "Over the past five days the work of the Leisure Support Services team has ensured that the Brit Oval is in the best possible condition at the start of every match day and I would like to extend my thanks to the team for doing an excellent job."
